You sit inside alone
And listen as the wind blows
Countless tears of autumn
Up against the windowpane
You long for the unknown
The sweet mystery that shows you
How you’re everything
(How you’re nothing)
And nothing is significant
(everything’s significant)
So you can see….
You are the center of the universe my friend
Breathe it all in
Slow
Breathe all your doubt
Away
There’s more to this than life on earth can comprehend
A paradox is solved
By asking proper questions
Answers, numerous,
Abound like fragments in the air
How strong is your resolve?
The cost of understanding
Could be everything
(maybe nothing)
It’s seemingly prohibitive
(nothing is prohibited)
But you can see
You are the center of the universe my friend
Breathe it all in
Slow
Breathe all your doubt
Away
There’s more to this than life on earth can comprehend
A singular speck
In the wink of an eye
No lasting effect
Will be left when you die
An abstract unseen
Your presence unfelt
Can you feel what I mean?
Do you know?
Have you dealt
With the limitless scope
Of this place where you hang?
Have you managed to cope?
Are you set for the bang?
breathe it all in
slow
breathe all your doubt
away
